  What is the Essay Collection?

The ComparativeTarot.com essay collection archives impressions of, insights into, and responses to Tarot cards from a wide range of decks. The collection facilitates comparative study, makes it easier to understand how the energy associated with a specific card is incarnated among many different decks, and (fortunately for U.S. Games, Llewellyn, and many other Tarot publishers) feeds the buying frenzy of collectors everywhere.

How Do I use the Essay Collection?

Browsing the collection couldn't be easier. The menu bar you see on the left runs down the edge of every page in the collection. To navigate:

1) Click the name of the card you wish to compare. A list of available essays on that card will appear, organized alphabetically by deck names.

2) Click the name of the deck to see the associated essay.

Enjoy! Explore! And look for opportunities to contribute essays of your own!

Why Do Some Cards Lack Essays?

The ComparativeTarot.com essay collection is a work in progress.

In some cases, our comparative journey hasn't yet reached the card in question.

In other cases, the card essays have been completed ... but haven't yet been transferred from the mailing list archives to this site.

And, sadly, in a few cases, we're just beginning to recover from a catastrophic data loss that occured back in September of 2001. Many essays were lost, and must now be rewritten from scratch!

Bear with us ... and, if you would like to contribute to the cause by submitting an essay of your own, feel free!
