Wonderland Tarot - Two of Peppermills
Created by Ed Buryn
Thorson Publishers, 1995
ISBN 1 85538 330 6

The two of peppermills shows a card character standing on a balcony, looking out over the countryside, holding a cup up as if in salute, with a melancholy expression on his face. The two peppermills stand on the upper parts of the parapet (the up-and-down look of the fairy-tale castle).

LWB: A man set apart, often a ruler. Courage to face and contemplate the world. Great riches, magnificent stature not appreciated.
Reversed: Great sadness, a monumental loss of faith. Imprisonment by others' actions. A surprise.

He seems terribly unhappy. What is in his cup? Whatever it is, apparently it's bitter. Or it's beer, and he hasn't had enough of it yet. There are no other people in this card; he is really alone.

Again, we have the element of struggle in this card. We have left the exuberance of the ace behind, now the work begins. We have to dig into ourselves to find the strength to go on. Keep your eyes on the goal, else the sacrifice will not be worth it.
