Ancestral Path - Two of Staves
By Julie Cuccia-Watts; book by Tracey Hoover
Publisher: US Games Systems, Inc.

The Two of Staves shows a wealthy Egyptian queen, turned away from the viewer, overlooking a ship on the Nile from a couch on her canopied terrace. It's a very calm, blue and lavender, image. This card is a dichotomy which can simultaneously co-exist. It's "And/Or." The first that comes to mind is prison and/or palace. Is she looking longingly at the ship? Or is she happy just kicking back and reading? For some reason, I think she may be pregnant (either I read it in the book or this card came up when I was pregnant), and thus restricted in her actions. 'Imprisoned' at the palace. On the flip side, the women that the pirates used to steal were 'imprisoned' on Sanibel Island, off the southern Florida coast. There are worse fates.

The Two of Staves offers a combination of blessing and curse.
