Kalevala Tarot - Three of Wands
By Kalervo Aaltonen & Taina Pailos
US Games Systems

An old man and a young man each hold a staff, facing each other. Over them, a spirit woman holds the third staff; her skirt dissolves into many colors, looking very much like the aurora borealis. The old man wears a white shirt and pants with a purple cape hanging loose down his back; the young man wears brown pants and no shirt. The woman's dress is white, shading into the colors. All staves are formed of flames.

LWB:
Upright - Trials, decisions, struggles
Reversed - Each of us has our own goals, and agendas.

The thing that jumped out at me was "synthesis". Alternately, it could be a conflict, the two men fighting over something, and she oversees to ensure fairness. Felt more like 1 plus 1 equals three- more than the sum of the parts. What are they learning from her? Is she only staying here to teach them? Or is she learning from them?

What can we bring together at this point? How can opposites inform each other? We can choose to fight, or we can choose to cooperate. It's up to us.
