Shining Tribe - Ten of Trees
Rachael Pollack
Publisher: Llewellyn
This card has a yellow ground and pink sky for the background. On the ground are 10 circles that represent the solar system with planets. At the top of the yellow planet that is the Sun, is a tree. The tree trunk actually kinda looks like three brown skyscrapers. For branches there are seven green ghosts / ghouls / souls, that are surrounded by yellow. They have an elongated “body" and a small oval head with oval eyes, and arms that look like crescent moons. They seem to be waving at the top of the tree trunk. At the horizon line are 10 trees with green trunks and yellow branches.
When I first looked at this card, I had to do a double check on which card this was, ‘cause there is no being overburdened in this card. The first thought that popped into my head was, "Look at me! I'm free." What the waving souls seem to be saying is, "I've made it out of this trunk and I'm free!" This card is about expressing our individuality. Expressing who we are, and that we can not fit into a single self. There is no single way to describe ourselves. We are many parts. Lover, friend, co-worker, creator, destroyer, enemy, spiritual, healer, daughter, mother.
The book states: "The foetus from the Ace has moved from the root of the tree to maturity in the topmost branches."
That is exactly what I feel when I'm look at this card. It is a card of joy of self. Dancing in the moments of life that let us, and we take the chance to. Let your self dance for joy, for all the parts that make up you.
Poem from the card:
“They burst up from the circles.
They shout jokes and wild stories.
They bring songs to their brothers."
