Rohrig Tarot - Ten of Wands
Carl Rohrig Bluestar Communications, 1995
Description: An ethereal figure stands inside of an enclosure made of bricks or wood. (Makes me think of an oven … creepy). The enclosure is open on one side, which is how we can see in, but the figure is turned away from the opening, head down. They seem very small and alone. 10 wands are suspended above it; they look as if they are flying toward it. “Oppression” is scrawled below it in two languages, and also written at the top of the card.
LWB: suppression, retained energy, suppressed strength, depressing heaviness.
My take: This card has “depression” written all over it. The person’s exile seems self-imposed — after all, the enclosure is not enclosed, and if they turned around they would see that. Their lowered head indicates that they want to stay in their position. Like the Cosmic deck, the person in this card seems to have given up. There is probably nothing so oppressing as depression.
