Fey Tarot - Ten of Wands
Artwork: Mara Aghem; Concepts: Riccardo Minetti
Publisher: Lo Scarabeo
Description: A tiny female fey with purple hair and blue clothes is bent double under her burden, a prize orange. The orange tree stands huge behind her, still bearing most of its fruit far beyond her reach. A few lesser fruits have fallen around her, but she seems determined to make off with the largest one.
Simple Meaning: “A heavy weight, a large prize, the fruit of one’s labor, fortune.”
Advanced Meaning: “On the one hand, it is a card of richness and abundance … On the other hand, the weight this fortune brings cannot be denied … Perhaps this is because beautiful things cost effort.”
My take on it: There are plenty of other choices available, but for this one, only the best will do – no matter how much work it takes. Extra effort can also bring extra rewards. Is the prize you seek worth the effort? If not, perhaps it’s time to find one easier to obtain – or an easier method to get the prize you really want.
