Transformational Tarot - Six of Wands
Created by Arnell Ando
Publisher: Ink Well Publishing
ISBN 0-9649386-3-4

Six of Wands shows a nude woman riding a white horse. She is leaning back slightly, her head bent forward and her hair covering part of her face. She seems to be almost negligent in her guidance of the horse. In front of the card is a staff bearing a wreath. This is Lady Godiva whose nude ride through the Coventry countryside is legend.

The Book says: Good news; recognition, promotion or reward; success, achievement in career or creative pursuits; victory will be forthcoming. In its reverse this card can denote rewards being delayed. One taking credit for another's work.

Bee's Buzz: To me this card is about continuing with our tasks or our responsibilities regardless of the obstacles that await. It symbolizes doing the right things no matter who protests and tries to prevent us. But the right thing in this case refers to a moral responsibility, answering to a higher authority. In the Lady Godiva legend, she rides naked through Coventry to help her people (or in some versions to continue the tradition of the old ways to honor the Goddess). Although riding nude violates human law, her desire to help her people places her ride in the category of civil disobedience. She has achieved legendary status because she dared to honor her deepest beliefs and to obey divine law. She emerged victorious at the end of her ride, having challenged unjust conditions and made a stand for what is right, fair and just.
