Spiral Tarot - Six of Wands

This card shows a jockey still mounted on his horse. He holds a wand, with a laurel wreath on the end, up in victory. Both he and the horse have a garland around their neck. There is a blue drape of cloth over the horse. It appears almost silk-like. Five other wands stand in the ground in front of the horse. A white railing in the background seems to be part of the racetrack. The only sign that he is taking joy in this victory is the way he is holding the wand with the wreath up for others to see. He holds his head up proudly as does his horse. He seems to be alone in this victory ... just man and his horse. But, the man and his horse are a team ... a winning team ... almost as one. Together they will have other victories. The jockey is looking in the far off distance as if he knows that this is just one race he has won and that there will be others. It is as if he knows that he must remain focused and not let his guard down because the next challenge is just around the corner. There are no crowds to applaud or greet him. His victory is the result of his own training and his hard work with his horse, resulting in a winning team.
Book Meaning: "When this card appears in a spread, victory is sweet. You are about to receive the rewards for the choices you have made and all your hard work. The six of wands usually suggests success in business, career and creative enterprises, but can also foretell victory in any personal endeavor."
