Shining Tribe - Six of Trees
Rachael Pollack
Publisher: Llewellyn
1st off... what a really fun card! There is an image of 6 "trees" that are all very colorful. What they remind me of is the tube that you could finger crochet over your own hand and fingers, with fringe sticking up at the top. They all have owl eyes and there are "actual" owl eyes in the top center of the card. A naked woman walks along the bottom of the card on the ground with her hair flowing out behind her. A beast follows her. Below the ground are symbols from left to right: blue column, green column, red column, owl eyes, red triangle surrounded by golden wheat, snake with eggs and triangle above and energy lines below.
There is a feeling of freedom and joy in this card. The woman walks with confidence through the trees of wisdom. What I really love about this card is that seeking and having wisdom can be fun and joyous. When I think about someone with wisdom, the vision in my mind is of an older male with a long beard sitting behind a desk, in a room full of books inside an old stone house in the middle of nowhere. This card reminds me that wisdom is found where we live.
Rachel Pollack's poem for the card:
"She strides past the whispers,
her pet close behind her.
She walks like a singer,
Through the forest of souls."
