Tarot of the New Vision - Six of Wands
By Gianluca Cestaro & Pietro Alligo
Lo Scarabeo
This isn't a deck I use a lot; I find it contrived much of the time. But this card is interesting. If you're not familiar with this deck, it's basically the RWS, taken and spun 180 degrees. You see the card from a whole different perspective ... from behind the main character or scene. Very interesting concept; sometimes what you see is really insignificant; sometimes it alters your perception of the card.
This card depicts the familiar mounted figure riding by with his wreath on his staff, from the perspective of the back of the crowd watching him. You see the backs of the people holding the staves. The backmost figure holds a staff in his right hand, but an open-doored birdcage in his left hand. Above the mounted figure, a dove flies away.
My take:
Interesting additional perspective here. At what price came this victory? It seems as though peace is gone, at least for now. This adds the concept that although this battle has been won, the war may just be beginning. Disturbing the peace may be necessary -- maintaining peace at all costs can be more harmful than engaging in battle -- but it remains to be seen how peace can be re-achieved; how that feeling can be recaptured. It's possible that although peace may be restored, the feeling of peace of mind may be gone, as illusions are shattered & reality faced.
Blessings
