The 6 shows a naked woman with her arms and legs spread, touching a circle that surrounds her. She has a second set of arms that separate at the elbow. So she has two shoulders, two elbows, and four hands. I see three divisions of the circle, like a pie sliced in three parts. Her hair spreads out behind her head, and flames dance around the edge of the circle. Each of her four hands holds a symbol of the element, and of the suit in this deck: an eagle, an octopus, a salamander, and a branch. Her upper set of hands also holds a sun symbol - a lion, and a moon symbol - I think it's a snake and a crescent moon.
LWB: Personal power, victory; becoming a leader; recognition.
Our journey in this deck and this suit so far: Ace, a woman being born from an egg in a great explosion of fiery energy. The two, a woman remembers being taught how to start fire with a fire drill. Three, children learn cave painting from their mother; guidance, forming that energy into our purpose. Four, women dance around a rock altar; we celebrate the muse of inspiration, the spark of creativity, the spark of life, and we give thanks. Five, women fight, creatures lurk in the background; perfection cannot last forever, other elements do intrude, how do we choose to deal with them?
And now the six, we have overcome the turbulence of change, assimilated dissimilar elements. We know about conflict; no experience is complete without some form of conflict. It's natural when dealing with our world - somebody's going to have a different idea of what you should do, or be, or whatever. The true mark of that leader is how they deal with the conflict. Do they decree? Ask the group to help form its own solution? Or do they ignore the whole thing and just go on as if nothing had happened?
Our Six of Wands has the courage to face herself in the conflict - that which hurts us, is us, reflected back. She knows facing this reflection is difficult, but necessary. She has the tools, the experience, the desire.
