Cosmic Tarot - Six of Wands
Norbert Losche
F.X. Schmid, 1988
Description: A man poses on one knee, holding a staff across his body. 5 more staffs lay on the ground in front of him. A lion wearing a crown or tiara sits calmly bind him. The terrain is rocky, but there are flowers growing. The sun shines brightly in the sky, and fluffy clouds float above the trees. The man wears a wreath around his head, and the symbol for the planet Jupiter is inscribed on his sash.
LWB: "A young man, kneeling like a victor, holds a wand in his hands. A lion wearing a crown lies beside him."
Meaning: victory, forces in balance, success, hope, good news, anxiety.
MHO: While the first word that comes to my mind about the 6 of wands is "victory", this card makes me think "pride". The man holds himself almost regally, as does the crowned lion ling behind him. Jupiter was the King of the Roman Gods, and his pride is apparent throughout the Greek myths. Something about this card makes me wish the man would get up and start going somewhere. Pride goeth before a fall, they say.
