Animal Tarot - Six of Wands

And in the spirit of the Olympics, we have another 6 of Wands that exemplifies it!
This card depicts a beautiful bay horse, groomed within an inch of his life, who appears to be jumping a fence. Behind him are glimpses of a city, and bright fireworks, and atop it all, the Olympic Rings.
This card speaks to me strongly of individual triumph. There is little to make you think of a team effort, or of assistance from the 'little people.' (In this animals-only deck, the horse is saddleless). Even spectators are only dimly suggested by the distant city. It is purely and simply this individual's time to shine; time to glory in the spotlight.
What I do think about with this card is the tremendous amount of work required to achieve success; the hours and hours of silent practice, the sweat & pain, the injuries, setbacks, slow progress; the multiple steps necessary to achieve this peak. Like the most graceful equestrian, this success may appear effortless, but it represents countless hours, months or years of hard, usually thankless, work.
Blessings
