Scene: Jack and the Beanstalk
Jack’s finished his adventures up the beanstalk and has returned home, the giant hot on his heels. The beanstalk has been chopped almost in two, but Jack stands ready with his sword in case it doesn’t topple under the giant’s weight.
Like the rest of the Rods in this deck, the card border is orange with vines in autumn colors. Suit symbols frame the image.
LWB: Stick to your guns; stand up for what you believe in.
Book Excerpts:
”Should the Seven of Rods appear in your spread, it’s time to stand up for what you believe in. Don’t worry about what others think. … State your case, and stick to your guns. Do whatever it takes to rectify the matter at hand.”
“Now is the time to face your greatest fear. No matter how daunting it seems, don’t hesitate. Gather your courage, and face it head-on. You have the tools necessary to conquer your fear and attain victory. Afterward, you’ll be surprised at how little effort it took to accomplish a feat of such magnitude.”
My take on it:
It’s only when we’re backed into a corner that we discover our true capabilities. Like the famous quote, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Once we overcome our fears and take that first step, the rest is easy.
This card’s message strikes me especially strongly right now. On the spur of the moment yesterday, I stepped into my fear of driving and took that first step to overcome it by getting my learner’s permit. Tracy Hite |
