Kalevala Tarot - Seven of Stakes

The seven of stakes shows a young man holding a club, his back against a fence twined with snakes; six more stakes lean toward him; all six have human heads. We can't see their bottoms, if they are held by people, or are animate, or are mounted on something, though I doubt they would be a danger to him if they were mounted.
From the LWB: There are obstacles standing in your way, and yet, there is no going back now.
Reversed: The past holds you to blame and the future makes demands on you. He faces an attack, against what seems like uneven odds. Maybe he has strengths that are not visible. Are these obstacles he knew would come and that he must face to get to his goal? Or are they a surprise attack? This is the time when you've put the investment in, and rented the storefront; you're going to pay whether you open your doors or not. So go for it. Give it a shot. If you don't try it, you'll regret it; regrets over things we didn't do are more numerous than the regrets over the things we did. Generally. As a friend of mine says, if she had her life to live over, she'd make all the same mistakes, only sooner! That is very 7 of stakes.
Maybe he has to subdue his passions to move forward. Maybe just a little bit? We'd hate to take all the passion out of life!
Either way, he says let's get this over with. :)
