LWB:
Upright – Valor, challenge, profitable alliances
Reversed – Anxiety, embarrassment, confusion
Description: A green lizard-man stands in a defensive posture in a tree, a large curved sword held at the ready. His green & yellow neck frill is spread wide, and his sharp teeth are bared. He wears a sleeveless shirt a little darker green than his skin, reddish-brown breeches, soft brown boots, and a wide gold cuff on his left wrist.
The Wands’ suit symbol, the Salamander, appears in a small circle at the upper left.
My take on it: Frilled lizards, members of the dragon family, are native only to northern Australia. When startled or threatened, it spreads out its large frill and hisses, making itself look bigger and more ferocious than it really is. If that doesn’t work, it turns and runs on its hind legs to the nearest tree for shelter.
This guy’s already up a tree, so he knows he has no choice now but to defend himself. The question is, how much of his posturing is real and how much is a bluff? Is he in real danger here, or is he afraid of letting anyone get close to him? He may be scaring away potential friends and allies as well as his enemies. Perhaps approaching others with caution might be a better plan. How else is he supposed to find that “profitable alliance” suggested in the LWB? Tracy Hite
