(800) THE-MOON

My description of the Sorceress (The High Priestess)
This is a very seductive sorceress as she stands in front of her cauldron with the full moon behind her head. A crescent moon is at her feet. Her blue gown which has slipped off of one shoulder has an undergarment decorated with red roses and she is wearing a necklet of three gold apples. She has part shape-shifted into an owl and hovering near her right hand is a bird who seems to be about to take the rose she is holding in her right hand. Her left hand is drawing in a 'star' of pure white energy and circling her head there is a ring of standing stones. Twining around her feet are the green vines denoting the celtic influences and rising from her cauldron a multitude of stars float up round her mingling into the ring of standing stones.

Card Description from the book
"The powerful sorceress stands before the cauldron of the Goddess, calling forth the energies she needs to create and transform energy into matter. She is half-shifted into an owl, the bird of mystical wisdom and ancient knowledge of the powers of the moon, which is at her feet and also behind her. The three golden apples hung about her neck represent her direct connection with the Triple Goddess (Maiden, Mother, Crone), who guards the gates of life, death, and rebirth. With her left hand, the Sorceress draws in universal energy to aid in the fulfillment of her goals and desires (the red rose in her right hand). Ancient standing stones circle above her head, representing her ability to access forgotten wisdom through the superconscious mind that connects all humans, living and dead. A crow, special messenger of the Goddess, hovers nearby. About her waist is a golden belt, symbol of eternity and endless cycles of life, power and learning."

My interpretation
The standing stones, which remind me of the famous Alignments of Carnac, here in Brittany, bring in ancient wisdom and knowledge.( I received a powerful Reiki attunement amongst these standing stones! ) I also think of a beautiful 'Pandora's Box'' as the cauldron sends up stars of spiritual knowledge changing and evolving all beings by leading and guiding them along the path of creativity and mysticism.

The Book's interpretation
"Prophecy.
As the Sorceress, you are experiencing a time of influence from higher sources. Opportunities and messages are coming that could enable you to make changes in your spiritual path. If you are an artist, musician, writer or mystic, turn to the cauldron - inner mind, souls, and nature - for inspiration. Listen to divine inspiration (the crow) that comes suddenly."
