Spiral Tarot - Nine of Wands

The background of the card is reddish ground leading to green hills and a purple blue sky. A man stands in front of 8 wands, and holds the ninth. He is smartly dressed in pinstripe pants, a green vest, white shirt with black bow tie, coat and top hat. I'm going to try to describe the position the man is in. He faces us, with his right arm angled slightly downward going out from the shoulder, bent in from the elbow, that is the hand that holds the wand. His left arm is slightly angled up and straight out from the shoulder, fingers splayed. His legs are spread wide with the left leg behind him, bent at the knee slightly toe of the shoe pointed out to his right. His right leg is forward of his body, with a tiny bend to the knee and his toe of the shoe pointed almost forward.
The book says, "This man is very defensive. He has positioned himself protectively in from of his eight wands, which represent his resources or his problems." Now the card is reminiscent of the RWS 9oW, but I have to say, this guy isn't at all beat up. When I look at the card, my 1st reaction is always that the guy is dancing. Kind of doing that “ta da” or cha-cha ending step. He stands in front of the wands with what I see as a kind of "I dare ya" look. "Lookie what I can do", and you feel he's ready to swing that 9th wand into action. Be protective, defend what you must, be aware of being over confident, or coming across as being arrogant, which will not help your position with others. It does say you can defend and protect what you have, and :::pppphhhtttt::: to you too!
