Explanation card: compromise of fire Iggy Pop i got a lust for life

Description: The card shows Iggy, shirtless and skinny in a pair of blue jeans. His face looks impassioned and haunted. His eyes and cheeks are hollow. He is looking up. The 9 symbols for voice descend to his left. The lyric reads "I got a lust for life".

My take: Gotta admit, I don't really know much about Iggy Pop. I don't know any more of the song than the lyric on the card (though it will now be stuck in my head for ages now), and I have no idea what "compromise of fire" means. Here's my stab at it: I believe Iggy Pop was part of the destructive punk rock scene. Maybe the compromise is the "lust for life" countered with his self-destructive tendencies. But I really don't know. The key could be in the meaning of the song. Normally I associate this card with strength. Anyone have any ideas?
