A white haired & bearded old wizard in his pointed hat with moons & stars makes magick. He is wise and knows the mysteries. He communicates with the animals and forests. It is hard to know him -- he is very powerful and quite intimidating & firghtening to some others.

According to the book he is "not only an intiator and hierophant but a kind, sensitive, and compassionate teacher as well. Examples the book gives are the Wizard of Oz (an imposter but still a teacher), Fantasia's Sorcerer and Merlin (guide & spiritual teacher to young King Arthur), and Gandalf (Lord of the Rings).

"Gandalf, with his taff od wisdom, the Sword Glamdring, and the horse Shadowfax, plays the part of wizard, magician, spiritual teacher, and guardian to Frodo and the hobbits. He is also the foil and nemesis to Sauron. Gandalf, as an emissary of the divine consciousness overlighting Middle Earth, warns Frodo -- representing the child spirit on the journey of life -- about the nefarious power contained in the One Ring."

"One of the main lesons that Frodo learns is that true spiritual power is not within the One Ring but within the ring of fellowship - one's sircle of friends, loved ones, and companions on the path of life."

The key is to allow the child within to open to the higher self to get in touch with wisdom and truth and to share that knowledge you learn with others. Holding it in, or using it to manipulate or control others is the essence of reversed Hierophant energy.
