Quest Tarot - Four of Wands
Creator: Joseph Ernest Martin
Publisher: Llewellyn
Description: A large gold bubble floats above a water-filled crater in a green coastline. A glass bird sits inside the bubble, wings spread, facing upward. Four brightly shining gold torches stick out of the bubble, also facing upward. The torches bear bands colored for the Elements – yellow
(Earth), red (Fire), white (Air), and blue (Water). Eight chakra-like jewels are arranged around the bubble. The sun sets over the ocean in the background.
Card title: Perfection
Astrological association: Venus in Aries
Stones: amber, aquamarine, diamond, ruby, garnet, bloodstone, emerald
Roman letter: D
I Ching: 63, After Completion, After the End (R.L. Wing)
Faceup Meaning: Harmony, peace, and tranquility. A flawless conclusion to past events. The coming together of family in love and abundance. The feeling of new romance. Victory in past endeavors. Prosperity and health. This is the right moment. Delicious excitement. Everything comes together perfectly. Events fulfill your heart’s desire. Beauty. Wholeness.
Reversed Meaning: The time is not yet right. Obstacles delay your journey. Problems and flaws come to the surface. Feeling uneasy and uncomfortable. Health takes a small turn for the worse. A disconnection to spiritual energy. Romantic intentions are left wanting. A period of stillness. Work not going well. Moving in an unproductive direction.
My take on it: This is as good as it gets! Everything’s going my way, and all is right with my world. A few tiny specks around the torch flames remind me of the Big Dipper and the North Star, a timeless guiding light. I’m not quite sure what to make of the bird. He’s like a ghost/spirit
trapped in the amber bubble, holding up the wands. Are his wings spread to embrace them? Everything’s reflecting the golden sunlight – except for the pool of water far below the bubble, which glows a blue-white from within. Perhaps this hidden pool is the true Source, hidden just below the surface.
