Hudes Tarot - Four of Wands
Deck: Susan Hudes
Book: Wisdom in the Cards by A.L. Samul
Publisher: US Games Systems

This card shows two young women strolling down a grassy hill. One can almost smell the freshly cut grass. One carries a single flower and another appears to be carrying a bouquet of flowers. Four tall wands form a pathway with two on each side. A string of ivy connects two of the wands.

From the Book
Upright - Rest and recuperation through conversation. Friendship. Sharing the small joys in life. Time out for meeting with others, especially in a busy day.

Reversed - Lack of communication. Dishonest interaction. Time not taken for relaxation. The potential for exhaustion.

When I look at the card, I see two friends talking and taking the time to spend with each other. They are not hurried and their expressions are peaceful. This card reminds us that no matter how chaotic life gets, we need to take the time to rebuild our energy ... to refresh our body and mind. There is no better way to do this than spend some relaxing time with family and friends. This is a time to share your feelings, your successes, even your failures and to give and receive honest feedback from those you trust. You can take off your mask and be yourself. You are recharging your energy so you will be ready for the next struggle that life brings you.

Affirmation
"I value honest and open communication and I foster it in my own life. I take time to connect with friends, knowing that the interaction will lift my spirits."

Prayer
"As I carry out the obligations of my day, help me to see the value of small moments of connection with others -- especially when my days are packed with many responsibilities."
