Fey Tarot - Four of Wands
Artwork: Mara Aghem; Concepts: Riccardo Minetti
Publisher: Lo Scarabeo
Description: Two tiny sprites (one green, one reddish-purple) are busily decorating a hollow tree, while a third stands lookout in the background. The sprites are working together to cover the huge tree in ribbons and streamers, bells and baubles. Simple Meaning: “Feast, celebration, agreement, tranquility, peace, preparations of joy.”
Advanced Meaning: “A party does not need a reason. A party or feast happens when the heart is happy. … Other Fey will return from their business and find everything ready.”
My take on it: The lookout indicates they are preparing a surprise party, perhaps to cheer up a friend or to thank them for something. Or maybe it’s just Tuesday. In any case, they’re busy working together to turn a home into a place of celebration. None of them alone is big enough for the job, but their cooperation is making it happen. Using teamwork to benefit yourself and others.
