The Fool shows a youthful, blond haired,
androgynous figure charging ahead along his journey. He seems to
be leaping out of a pale yellow sphere, onto a dark space. A
ribbon of blue, decorated with what look like the eyes on a
peacock's tail, lies between the two spaces. The Fool is dressed
in a blue vest decorated with bright buttons and bells. Along the
bottom of the shirt and around the sleeves are light yellow and
green fringe. the Fool carries a black bag over one arm and holds
a large white flower in the other. In the Fool's hair is a
headpiece that seems to be made of white flower petals. His shoes
look almost like fuzzy slippers with a flower on the top. The Fool
is accompanied by a gray and white husky type dog whose tongue is
out and seems to be happy to accompanying his master on this
journey. The Fool is looking forward but his eyes are white, with
no pupil visible.
The Book says: All is movement, all change.
This is a precarious time. Take a risk, have faith, trust that you
will be cradled. Every fall moves you closer to your own target of
perfection. You are in the cradle of perfect love. Use this
opportunity to create. Concentrate on the present. When walking,
place one foot in front of the other; no matter how high the
mountain, the peak is reached one step at a time. You are in the
first mode of empowerment; detachment from outcome. Undertake the
present enterprise because you must, but detach yourself from
outcomes. The process is critically important at this time; do not
concern yourself with the ultimate product.
Bees Buzz: This card speaks to me of
exploring the unknown and being willing to take that leap across
the safety zone. The yellow area of the card is that which is
known and familiar. The dark space is the unknown and the
unfamiliar. The Fool is blithely moving across the safety zone and
yet he is not alone. His dog accompanies him. And dogs are famous
for their instincts and their almost supernatural senses. The dog
serves as a reminder to trust our instincts on this journey. We
are often trained to ignore our instincts in order to meet social
norms. But the Fool reminds us that it is important not to lose
these instincts and that sometimes we have to go against the norms
in order to explore new experiences and to enjoy ourselves.
Sometimes we need to allow ourselves to look foolish to others in
order to be true to ourselves.
