It is a Rider-Waite style Fool. A
person in a jester type outfit that is very colourful. To me it looks
like a girl with blonde hair. She has a wreath of flowers in her hair.
It looks like roses but I guess it could be a laurel wreath. She is
playing a flute. She has a backpack on with colourful streamers
trailing from it. There is a small white dog dancing. She stands at a
cliff and there is lots of blue sky and green mouintains with snowy
peaks. There is a stream down in a distant valley. Butterflies flutter
around her also.
I just realized while writing this that
the backpack signifies a journey. The whole scene has a carefree feel
to it with joy and lightheartedness.
LWB: Thoughtlessness, folly,
lightheartedness, innocence. Purity of heart. Lack of discipline. One
seeking fulfillment and experience. Freedom, lack of restraint.
Reverse: Carelessness, vanity, indecision, apathy, poor judgement.
Lack of control.
On a personal note. I am not a fan of
the Rider-Waite deck. I dont know why really. I love Robin Wood's deck
though. It is pretty and has a better feel for me while being similar
to RW .It is a very good deck for beginners. I am very glad that I got
it. There is a softness about it that I like. In this card I like the
butterflies and the backpack. The butterflies give a feeling of joy
and carefree abandon. The backpack suggests a journey- the whole
importance of the Fool card in connection with the Major arcana and
probably for the people in readings as well.
I would like to remind everyone that I
am a beginner. I really like this card. I dont always like the Fool in
some decks. This one is nice.
