Description
A young man, whose eyes are looking
at the celestial skies, appears to be walking off the side of a
cliff.
A dog is barking at his feet,
representing the world, stating one should do this or that.
The FOOL is dressed in a brightly-coloured
tunic, with boots to protect his feet.
Upon his head is a laurel wreath of
victory with the red feather of knowledge.
Over his right shoulder he carries
a rod upon which is attached a bag, in which he carries his karma
-- the sum total of his experiences.
In his left hand is a mystic rose,
demonstrating his inspirations.
Meaning
This person is walking to his own
drumbeat, because he believes in what he is doing. He is not
listening to anyone else and appears to be walking off the edge of
a cliff, which only a fool would do. But he knows full well that
as he walks off the cliff firm ground wil appear and all will be
well. He has complete faith. He knows his prayers will be answered
because he walks with the force of love and the laws of the
Universe."

To me a choice has to be made and
it means taking a risk and most people don't like to take risks
and won't make changes because of the risks.
In this choice that is offered it
might indicate a direction for this FOOL to go.
This card is the card of beginning
and yet when we complete the cycle and come to the WORLD, we
become the FOOL all over again but this time he/she has experience
of the 21 cards and has a little more knowledge.
As we know in life we must evolve.
To keep that flat line is "death" and we must keep on that spiral
to go to higher places, yes in life.
