Description (mine, not the book!)

A tarot reader, wearing a soft, pink jumper, sits in a high-backed chair, before a table, with a purple cloth and her deck spread out before us. I say us because she is facing me as if I am her client! She is holding the Fool card up for me to see. The chair is carved with jokers/jesters and there are fetishes (a corn-dolly, a wax effigy and another I do not recognize) hanging on either side. There is a large, oval mirror set into the back of the chair. She is smiling at me, telling me that this is a good card to see!

Meanings (out of book!)

Beginnings; the heady moment before diving headlong into the future; the state of being untested (inexperienced); the feeling of quivering anticipation when one arrives on the brink of experience; exploring the unknown; risking; taking a leap of faith; stepping onto an untested path, or leaping onto the spiral. Consulting an oracle; paying attention to omens; using divination to clear a tangled path. (The book does include a description, cultural images, meanings, numerology and trump correspondences.)

What I see

Well other looking at a fellow reader, the main thing that strikes me (straight between the eyes!) is the mirror!! I hate mirrors, actually I hate seeing my reflection. But I feel this card is telling me that I should do just that! What do I see? Do I like what I see? And if not, Why not? Basically I should question myself and then find the answers to those questions. Not just the outside view, also the inner me! When I have found the answers then I should know what others see-the outer me and perhaps, the inner me! To face myself, in a mirror or otherwise, is one of my greatest challenges, but the tarot has helped me to begin the journey of discovery about who I am and to find my path. The mirror shows me infinity, the reflection of a reflection of a reflection, each one the same, continuing into the future!
