This card shows five men challenging each other. Four of them are dressed similar but one is wearing a top hat, black suit with tie. Four of the men, including the one in the top hat seem to be challenging the other man. There is a hill and the four men are standing near the top blocking the approach of the fifth man. They seem to be trying to keep him from getting to the 'top' whether it is in his job or another endeavor. The prominent color in this card is in the red background suggesting a lot of passion or anger about the situation.
The book states: "The five of wands depicts the competitive spirit of the wands' energy. In the card, five men put on a mock display of aggression, four of them stand together in a variety of threatening poses against one man. With this card, challenges may arise requiring you to defend yourself. This is usually in a business situation and may be stimulating, since it gets the adrenaline running. Your options may be questioned, and you may have to prove your point over an issue. The fives are action-packed. You may have to compete in either worldly or emotional affairs."
