Mansions of the Moon Tarot - Five of Wands
By ZADOK (dahogue@nctc.net)
Self-Published

The Five of Wands shows five staves interlocked together in the front of the card. Behind the staves we see the outline of a hand. The hand offers a glimpse into a pale blue sky dappled with wispy clouds. On the ground beneath the staves we see a patchwork pattern of pale greens, darker greens and orange. They remind me of the view of farmland when seen from the sky. Behind the hand we see a round stained glass window (is it called a rose window) like the type seen in churches over the entrance door.

Traditional meaning: Violent strife, rashness, competition. In the battle of life, boldness changes things for the better. Obstacles. Be firm, stand your ground, don't give in. Despite the uphill battle, you overcome the competition.

Bee's Buzz: This card is a bit hard to read. The five crossed, interlocked staves look like sticks being knocked against each other in battle. They block each other’s path and prevent any one from emerging victorious. The hand behind them may be the doorway through which we can pass once we get beyond the struggle. It's the portal to a new day, to a place of clarity and peace. The stained glass window may serve as a reminder that very often our struggles serve a spiritual purpose and that once we get beyond them we are able to see this more clearly. Whether the struggle is internal or external, our struggle, trials and tribulations are what make us strong and give us the experience necessary to deal with life's ups and downs. It may not be easy or pleasant while we are living through them, when we have the chance to reflect and look back upon them we can appreciate the wisdom and experienced gained.

Bees Blessings,
Debbie
