5 of Wands shows a large yellow five-petaled flower with dark red spots near the center. Smaller, unopened yellow buds droop from nearby stems. A small winged fairy with long blue hair, blue wings and a wreath atop her head holds one of the petals and rest her feet on another. Her light green gown blends perfectly with the leaves. The background is shades or orange and red. A brilliant star twinkles in a corner of the sky
The book says: This fairy is Flora and she is calling upon us to expand and unfurl the divinity sleeping within our hearts. Your female side is flourishing. This is an opportune time to paint or color a mandala. Visualize it as the opening of your soul. Realize that this time in your life is not a struggle, but a dance or unfolding of your creative and intuitive gifts. Some changes may be on the horizon. Focus on the constructive freedom the universe is offering you. The keynote is to open yourself.
Bee's Buzz: The fairy seems to be working at separating the petals. She almost looks like she is preparing to shake them out. The yellow of the flower reminds me of the sun and its light and warmth. Her green dress connects her to the flower stems, to growth and fertility. Her blue hair and wings remind me of the water necessary for plants to grow. Perhaps her job is to dapple the flower with morning dew to keep it moist and fresh each day. She reminds me that even the most beautiful and lovely things need regular care and tending. She must be consistent and conscientious in order to make sure the flowers are ready to greet the day. Her efforts may go unnoticed by the rest of the world but are greatly appreciated by the plant. She may struggle to care for each petal but she takes her responsibilities seriously and will not let a flower droop due to her negligence.
