5 of Wands shows a man's and a woman's foot snuggled up closely together. The man's foot wears a heeled black shoe and a black pant let. The woman's foot is encased in red fish net stockings and a black heeled strapped shoe. They remind me of the kinds of shoes one sees on a professional tango dancer. Written on the man's pant leg is the phrase "It takes two to tango".

The Book says: The tango perfectly represents the constant flow of a conflict of wills, spirits and essential natures. It is a flow that never rests. Manifested in a balanced manner, it can challenge and stimulate us, driving us to greater heights. Manifested in an unbalanced manner, it seeks to dominate by eliminating the give and take, ebb and flow - which invites retaliation. The key thing to remember is that the potential to learn, grow stronger and evolve comes from interaction. Which means that other players are essential. After all, it takes two to tango.

Bee's Buzz: The whole energy from this card brings to mind the sexual tension and struggling that goes one when people are involved in the mating dance. One gets too close and the other backs away. One clings to the other seeking support and strength and then twirls away in nervousness. Any relationship is about strife and struggle but it is also about passion and fire, tension and anticipation. We want to be close to someone else but worry about being vulnerable and hurt. But that fear and anticipation is all part of the dance. This 5 of Wands brings all of that to mind by just using a pair of shoes. It reminds me of watching tango dancers whirl their way across the dance floor using moves of controlled passion and emotion. There is nothing vulgar in the moves but they are sensual and suggestive. It is what is missing in many of the dance moves being done by teens today. There is no tension, no anticipation, no controlled passion. Everything is out there for all the world to see. This card is a reminder that control and constraint that only hint at the true passion just waiting to be unleashed can be even sexier and more sensual than naked bodies writhing on a runway.
