My Description

Dressed in nature's green the heavily pregnant mother-to-be paddles her feet  in a blue rippling pool. Her long fair hair cascades over the white winged mare standing behind her and drinking water from the pool. She stands in a queen-like attitude and is holding what looks like an orb ( book says a pomegranate) in her left hand wearing a triskelion around her neck. In the dark night sky, the stars are shining brightly whilst behind her a vortex of golden light is spiraling towards or away from her. In the foreground a curl of mist seems about to sweep up and encircle her.

Beautiful and pregnant, the Mother is the one who gives birth and continues the never-ending cycle of life. Daughter of Oneness, the Mother represents the diving feminine archetypal energy of birth and death. As the divine Mare drinks from the pool of knowledge, the pregnant Mother stands with her feet immersed in the cool water. The Mother wears green robes decorated with the cosmic web, signifying her close relationship with nature and the green world.

My Interpretation

In more ways than one this is a card of great expectations. One has the feeling of standing at the threshold in a world of wonder and creativity. The earth Mother represents fruitful harvests, fertility and the birth of ideas bringing about abundance on all levels.
