Wise Woman Tarot - Eight of Wands, Arrows of Love
by Flash Silvermoon & Barbara Vogel
On the bottom right side of the card you see grey hands holding a orange and red bow, they have just twanged the string. Flying up and to the left are 8 branch arrows. Along the left side of the card the arrows have flown part way past the edge and you can see the resulting sparks. Two arrows that are going to the top of the card have not yet reached their destination, and have no sparks. The background of the card is a pale blue of the sky.
The subtitle of this card tells us that it most likely deals with love. The sparks are an indication of the "spark" of new love or the spark of lust. It does as with a RWS 8 of Wands again carry the idea that something is happening fast, they barely leave the bow and have struck something. When I think of sparks, I think of more then love, I think of the spark of imagination, creation, and of life. I think whatever these sparks are talking about, you better be ready, cuz here it comes
;o)
DM from the book:
“It is a card of high energy and spontaneity. Speed is the key and beyond lust, this card may simply express the need for quick energy."
