Shining Tribe - Eight of Trees
Rachael Pollack
Publisher: Llewellyn
This card shows a pale pinkish dry land with a pale blue sky. At the horizon line is a home that is in flames. Flames come out of all the many windows. There are 4 trees scattered, all but one is on fire or burnt. There are 3 bushes, 2 burnt or burning and one green. The house represents the 8th tree. A very hot pink woman with long yellow hair is leaping at the top center of the card.
The 8 of Wands has always been my NOW card, the green light for whatever is in question. This 8 of Trees, also says now, but it also gives us more to look at. It indicates by all that has burned and is burning that there is destruction in the past or happing right now. It also shows us that we can leap with JOY out of this. There are things we still have. There is one tree and a bush left. What truly matters to us we still have. Leap with joy out of your bad situation. Joy is waiting for you to feel it. Even with all the destruction shown on the card, I smile each time I look at the leaping woman. It just shouts "I'm FREE!"
The poem from the big book:
"She flies over houses.
She flings back her hair.
Like a child in the water,
She shouts over fire."
