Rohrig Tarot - Eight of Wands
Carl Rohrig
Bluestar Communications, 1995

Description: The background is a black, star-filled sky. Over that is purple, and on top of that are two pieces of lined paper, scrawled with writing that, as usual, I cannot understand. (Moonchild? A little help?) On top of one piece of paper is a woman's face, in profile. The eye is empty, so it looks like a mask, and you can see the starry sky behind it. Her hair is wispy and white-blond. She is facing two more faces, one man superimposed over the other, or perhaps it is two faces of the same man. His eyes, too, are blank. Two shafts of light fly between the foreheads of the woman and man/men. There are 8 rods at the bottom of the card, and the word "swiftness" is written both at the top and the bottom.

LWB: An upcoming event, good news is approaching, misconceptions are exchanged for truth, overcoming resistance.

My take: While I normally think of this card as movement or action within people's lives or projects, to me this card indicates a connection between two people. The swiftness lies in how quickly and naturally the two work together to create an end -- perhaps a business venture, or a creative partnership, or even a love relationship. Misconceptions are impossible when faced with such a connection, and how could one resist?
