Wheel of Change Tarot - Ace of Wands

Ace of Wands: In a clearing at the edge of a forest we see a triangle set atop a staff. On top of the staff is a glowing orb. Just beneath it sits a wreath flowers of with streams of multi-colored ribbons fluttering from it. The triangle is decorated with twigs, each light and glowing with a merry fire. The orb gives of rays of white and pale blue light which wave and curl into the sky.

The Book says: When the Ace of Wands is drawn as a part of a reading, look at the creative, passionate spirit of the issue you are dealing with. Remember the connection with the forest and his worship in the ancient groves, where the people celebrated the power of their bodies (Disks) expressed through creative action and passion (Wands). This celebration of the creative power of our biology translates into the joy we feel when we find creative ways of living. We need to create new things and use our hands and bodies in order to lead full and valued lives. Just as the spirit of the Forest God lived in the tress, our creative spirit lives in whatever we create. The act of creation and the passion we feel expand our spirit and make us happier. This is a card of creative potential.

Bee's Buzz: This card strikes me as very energetically sexual (or maybe that should be sexually energetic). The orb tipped wand has a phallic quality to it. And the image of it in the center of the triangle (a reversed yonic symbol) suggests the sex act in all its glory. Colorful ribbons stream, rays of radiant light stream forth, amazing amounts of energy are released - yup, sounds like it could be sexual to me. Then again perhaps that is the key to the Ace of Wands, it is about tapping into the same type of powerful, creative and fiery energy that really good sex can release. That is the passion, the inspiration and the source of some of the most creative energies ever seen. Beautiful poetry, lush prose and gorgeous art may all have at their root this core of fire and heat. It is a fire in the brain, the start of a new transformative journey that will help us learn to tap into this fiery, glorious and powerful source without being enveloped in the process. This Ace of Wands is the starting point of our journey. Do we dare continue down this road? How can we resist the challenge?
