Ace of Wands shows us a circular chamber surrounded arches and framed by a deep red sky. At the center of the chamber is a pedestal surrounded by water. Atop the pedestal floats an orb with a black frame surrounding it. In the middle of the orb we can see shimmering crystal-like objects. Flitting all around the orb are butterflies of varying shades and hues.
The Book says: And that is the moment of the Ace ... that instant when the inner flame flares brightly and we are filled to bursting with an idea or project that demands expression. It is that time where we feel most connected to the divine, when we feel we could accomplish anything. For the energy is pure and emanates from a limitless source. And we too are the butterflies fueled by the flame, our wings spreading, waiting to take flight. The desire to create consumes, uplifts and exalts us.
Bee's Buzz: Once again we see butterflies, a symbol often associated with the spirit, the soul. This card shows that there is a plethora of spiritual resources available to us, and it is our choice whether we wish to flit about it or fly into it and risk being seared by its power and intensity. Creation is not an easy process, whether it is creating a child or a Tarot deck. A lot of soul-searching and self-doubt are poured into both. Somehow we feel that we are not worthy, not really creative. But the fact of the matter is that we are. Regardless of what spiritual path one follows, there is a belief in divine inspiration, of being touched by the gods. This is the gift that lights a flame to our spirit. But if we are not willing to accept this flame and feel its transformative power and energy then what happens? We risk being consumed and destroyed. To avoid this many of us may spend our lives avoiding this divine touch. But for those who are willing to take the risk the benefits can be extraordinary. So the choice is yours. Do you wish to accept the gift of the gods and change your life forever? Or do you prefer to stay on the safe path (at least for now)? The choice is yours to make.
