Arcus Arcanum Tarot - Ace of Wands
created by Gunter Hager; illus. by Hansrudi Wascher
Publisher: AGMuller

Ace of Wands shows a hand reaching out of a fire holding a large club. In front of the flames we see a salamander calmly watching as a roaring lion charges towards it. The lion's claws are out and his mouth is open in a roar, which bares his fearsome teeth. The sky is alight in fiery shades of orange and red. Even the grass on the ground is tinted a fiery hue. The only spot of green is the small piece of land beneath the salamander.

LWB says: On the basis of energetic action, something is created, erected, achieved or started. Under favorable circumstances, a promising enterprise is started with all energy and creativity and thereby constitutes the prerequisite for a further good development.

Bee's Buzz: This card speaks to me of unharnessed and unleashed energy. The flames, the lion and the salamander all hold the secrets to tapping into this energy but first we must accept its power and might. We have a choice to accept the club being offered to us, but in accepting it we also accept the benefits and consequences of this decision. It will take us on a journey that will transform and inspire us. It end teach us to embrace and enjoy on fiery, passionate, creative side. And it will also teach us to respect its power and hopefully to wield it wisely. After all tamed fire can be the most creative force in the universe. But in order to learn to tame it you must be willing to get burned on occasion.
